What's in the Guide?
----------
The World Wide Calendar contains listings of festivals, concerts,
installations, exhibitions, conferences, recitals, lectures,
workshops, and venues that produce events. At the moment, it includes
Engine 27 in New York, Interpretations in New York, ISEA in Paris,
Cyberarts in Boston, and over 100 other events around the world. And
there's a special calendar, sponsored by Infusion Systems, that
documents interactive arts events.

Attend ISEA, a major international digital arts festival and
conference, happening December 7 - 10 in Paris. There'll be papers,
panels, seminars, individual presentations, videos, musical sessions,
concerts, web-site and CD-ROM presentations, more, more ...

The Internet Directory points to artists, research centers,
organizations, publications, and to works by and about artists.
There's News. The most timely item is that the hearing on the
Leonardo lawsuit is scheduled for Monday, November 20 at 3pm at the
Tribunal de Grande Instance de Nanterre, just outside Paris. You are
invited to attend. As another item, the archival center of The Daniel
Langlois Foundation in Montreal is now open for research.
The Education Directory lists academic programs in electronic music
and media arts. The current listing includes Bennington College,
Dartmouth College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Michigan State
University ...
Presentation Proposals contains descriptions of events that are
available for touring. For the moment, it includes Thomas Buckner's
concert programs and an installation of John Cage's Bird Cage.
Items of Interest is a directory of important products and services,
at this time including audio software and devices from England,
Norway, France, and the US.
The Professional Opportunities database, maintained in collaboration
with SEAMUS (Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States)
lists jobs, grants, contests, calls for articles and artworks, and
more.

Send us listings for events, venues, and professional opportunities
in electronic music, media arts, and related fields. Please send
items as far as possible in advance of an event or deadline.
For events, include the title of the event, when and where it's
happening, a brief description (sentence or two), and an email
address or website for more information.
For professional opportunities, include, as appropriate, the title;
description of the event, publication, or institution; what you're
looking for (for example, papers, music, video works, performance
proposals, job titles); deadline for submission; and an internet
contact address.
