UCInet modem pool Phone Number . . . [INF] (C)

   **** NOTE: NEW PHONE NUMBER FOR UCInet modem pool effective Sept 11 ****

Effective September 11, 1995, UCI's main dial-up modem phone number will
change from 824-8960 to 824-9000.  At the same time, 824-8960 will become
an "Express Modem Pool" with connections limited to 15 minutes.  To lessen
the impact of this transition, you may start using the new 824-9000 phone
number as of September 1.

This change is being made to allow us to increase the number of modems
available from a total of 220 to 300 and to ensure that voice and data
connections do not compete for the same telephone trunk lines.  The express
modem pool will allow people to make quick connections to pick up electronic
mail, exchange files, or make on-line references.
