ARTSEDGE's first "Online Virtual Conference" on the topic:
"The Role of Technlogy in Elementary Music Education" will be active from
April 14 through May 30 at:

You can register for the listserv discussions for each of the presentations
at that address now, as well, to insure you don't miss any of the forums.
The Conference features presentations by:
- - Frances Rauscher, one of the researchers responsible for the study
(Shaw/Rauscher) showing that early music teaching positively influences
"spatial reasoning" ability.
- - Doug Goodkin, noted Orff educator an one of ten coauthors of the "Share
the Music" text series on the "Case for Caution" in using technology in
teaching elementary music.
- - A forum, including representatives of the major music software companies,
on the available technology for elementary music teachers.
- - Multimedia presentations
After the discussions are concluded, the procedings of this conference will
permanently remain at this URL.
