SCOPE: The French government is inviting applications for the Bourse
Chateaubriand: Social Sciences and Literature Doctoral Research in
France. The scholarships support doctoral research that would benefit
from association with a French research institute or the use of French
archives.
DEADLINE: January 14.
FUNDS: Scholarships include 1) a monthly stipend of 8,700 francs
(roughly $1,200) for nine months; 2) health insurance; and 3) a
round-trip ticket to France.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be U.S. citizens working toward a Ph.D.
and be enrolled in a postgraduate program at an American university.
AREAS: The Scholarships are for research in France in French
literature, cinema, humanities, arts, history, philosophy, political
science, and sociology.
