Electronic Music Foundation (EMF) and Leonardo, both not-for-profit
organizations that serve music and art in today's world, have launched a
collaboration to develop The EMF / Leonardo Guide to the World, which
includes The World Wide Calendar, special features, a guide to internet
resources, an Internet Directory, and notices from sponsors.
The World Wide Calendar is a web-based calendar / database and monthly
email update (this is the first issue). Our goal is to make it possible for
anyone in the world to find out what's happening anywhere in the world at
the cutting edge of electronic music, new music, media art, and related
artforms ... without investing hours in navigating different websites,
sorting email messages, or scouring lists and more lists.
In fact, we've been maintaining a worldwide calendar on our website for the
past few years. But just this week we've crossed a new starting line and
The World Wide Calendar is now reborn the better to list and promote
events, individual artists, organizations, and cutting edge companies. And
we're trying to do it in a way that allows you to access information easily
and quickly.
Here is a selective sampling from May listings.

Whatever one might think of NATO bombing, the outbound flow of Kosovar
refugees and their tales of horror during the past several weeks has
certainly led many people to reflect on violence and destruction in our
culture. All the more gratifying to find a constructive and creative voice
in Belgrade, and the more so in that our efforts are valued.

in order to produce African multimedia works for the web, ISEA offered web

professional artists working in the various fields of the visual arts,
