SCOPE: The Borchard Foundation is inviting applications for faculty 
grants in France, to be held at the Chateau de la Bretesche, Loire 
Atlantique. 

DEADLINE: December 31. 

FUNDS: Semester or Quarter Scholar in Residency Grants provide 
accommodations in the Chateau plus a stipend of $15,000. Candidates 
should be on sabbatical leave, and the Foundation expects a 
publication to derive from the residency.

Grants to Host an International Colloquium will provide $25,000 for a 
three-day international colloquium at the Chateau in the summer months 
of 2002. Colloquia should be small in size, with at least half the 
participants Europeans. The Foundation expects grantees to publish the 
proceedings. 

ELIGIBILITY: Candidates may be from any discipline. Grants have been 
made, for example, in French, English, art, music, theater, 
philosophy, psychology, history, economics, medicine, and dentistry.
