Symposium Proceedings Available

We still have copies of proceedings for The Bowling Green State  University
Symposium on Music Teaching and Research in 1997 and 1999  available.

The Symposium held in 1997 was "Reform in Education."  The  proceedings,
edited by P. Thomas Tallarico, included articles by  Robert Duke, Peter
Webster, Donna Brink Fox, June Hinckley, Nancy  Ditmer, Les Sternberg, and
others.

The Symposium held in 1999 was "Cultural Interpretation and  Contemporary
Music Education."  The proceedings, edited by C. Victor  Fung, included
articles by Bruno Nettl, Keith Swanwick, Rita Klinger,  Lucy Long, Angela
Nelson, Anthony J. Palmer, Dawn Corso, Susan C.  Gardstrom, Kathryn Wemyss,
Rene Boyer-Alexander, C. Victor Fung, and  documentation of workshops by
Rita Klinger, David Harnish, Habib  Iddrisu, Ellen McCullough-Brabson, and
Rosalyn Payne.

Both volumes are available for purchase: the 1997 volume for US$10;  the
1999 volume for $13.  There is a $3 shipping charge for an order  of either
or both volumes.
