A free online book about musicians and somatics is at

                 www.bodymap.org/atlasthome.html

And from that web page ...

"Many musicians all over America are playing in pain, others are injured by playing, and
others are technically limited because they do not understand how to use their bodies in
movement. This state of affairs is deplorable, and it is unnecessary. The information
exists to keep musicians free of pain and injury. The information exists to support
musicians in ever-increasing facility. This book is designed to progressively contain that
information.

"Incorporating into music training all that has been learned in recent decades about the
body in movement, about sensory awareness, and about attention is the frontier in music
training. The authors of this book are pioneers on that frontier, and we ask you to joint us
there.

"This book is an on-line book, authored collectively by all who choose to contribute. This
book is not copyrighted or published in paper, though certain sections of it may occur in
other publications (chapters from Barbara Conable's other books, for example). It is a
work in progress, changing every week, and you are welcome to download all or part of
it at any time. You may reproduce this book at will for your own purposes. You are
trusted to preserve the integrity of the contributor's work and to attribute it properly.

"You are encouraged to use the contents of this book in your studios and in your
classroom teaching.

"You are encouraged to suggest revisions, improvements, and refinements to this book.

"You are strongly encouraged to contribute to this book."
