The 1996 issue of "Contributions to Music Education" (No. 23), published
through the Ohio Music Education Association, is now available. Cost of the
publication is $5.00. You can receive this issue simply by sending your name
and mailing address to me at:

Once your order is received your copy will be sent to you along with a billing
statement. This issue features articles on the effect of movement-based
training on the aural acuity of conductors, listeners' ability to identify
expressive musical performances, the emergence of symbol use among
prekindergarten children, student attitude and instrumental music instruction,
invented notation among preschoolers, student achievement in world musics,
perceptual modality and musical aptitude among kindergarten students, and
