Music Education Resource Base (MERB) at http://www.ffa.ucalgary.ca/merb/ . . . [EDP] (C)

From an Announcement submitted by dmcinto1@sol.uvic.ca (Dale McIntosh):

Music Education Resource Base (MERB) at http://www.ffa.ucalgary.ca/merb/

On 1 February a new index to resources in music education was mounted on the
World Wide Web (WWW). This resource (encompassing more than 25,000 records)
has been more than 10 years in preparation and currently includes indices to
20 journals in music and music education. Other resources (including monographs
and non-print materials) will be made available as time and funds permit. The
resource is fully indexed by subject, author, and title and may be accessed on
the WWW at the following address (or URL): http://www.ffa.ucalgary.ca/merb/
It is currently being made available with the cooperation of CultureNet, an
independent on-line Canadian arts resource. For those unfamiliar with the World
Wide Web, freeware browsers are available for almost all platforms on many of
the on-line services. Particularly popular are Mosaic (MERB needs 2.5), MacWeb,
and Netscape. MERB will be available in test mode on CultureNet until 1 July
1995 at which time its potential future as a resource in music and music
education will be determined. Report any errors/omissions/suggestions/comments
regarding the interface/content to the resource manager: Dr. R. Dale McIntosh,
